Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup butter 2 sticks, 227 g, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar 220 g
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour 188 g
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup corn syrup 240 ml
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups pecans 240 g, chopped

Method
 

  1. Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Coat a 9x13-inch baking pan with grease.
  2. In a bowl, stir the melted butter and brown sugar until the mixture is smooth.
  3. Gently mix in the flour and salt, stirring just until they are incorporated.
  4. Evenly press the mixture into the greased pan. Bake for 15 minutes, or until it turns golden.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat the corn syrup, eggs, and vanilla together until the mixture is uniform.
  6. Fold the chopped pecans into the mixture, ensuring they are fully coated.
  7. Spread the filling evenly over the baked crust.
  8. Bake for another 30 minutes, until the filling is set.
  9. Let the bars cool completely before cutting them into squares.
  10. Enjoy them warm or cold, optionally accompanied by ice cream or fresh berries.
