Ingredients
Method
Strawberry Simple Syrup
- In a small saucepan set over medium heat, mix 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water. Stir continuously until the sugar fully dissolves.
- Lower the heat to medium-low. Add strawberries and vanilla, stirring them in. Cover the pan and let it simmer for 5 minutes. Take it off the heat and allow to cool. Let the strawberries steep for no less than 2 hours to get the fullest flavor. Strain the strawberries out, then transfer the syrup to an airtight container. Keep refrigerated for up to 2 weeks.
Rim Decoration
- Pour the lemon juice into a shallow dish. In another shallow dish, mix 1/3 cup sugar and a few drops of red food coloring. Rub the sugar between your fingers until the color is spread evenly.
- Coat the rim of each glass by first dipping it into the lemon juice, then into the colored sugar.
Drink
- In a large pitcher, mix cranberry juice, strawberry simple syrup, sparkling water, cranberry Sprite, grenadine, and Angostura bitters. Stir thoroughly.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared glasses. Add a mini candy cane to each as a garnish. Serve chilled.
